Men's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision at Washington Adventist

TAKOMA PARK, Md. - The Goldey-Beacom College men's soccer team was defeated by host Washington Adventist University, 2-0 on Mon. evening in non-league Division II play.

Junior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias made seven saves in the losing effort while WAU's Daniel Olofinsua made two saves to preserve the shutout victory. The Shock out-shot GBC 21-10 and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Senior Kwame Appiah led the Lightning with three shots on the day.

After 25 minutes of scoreless action, Kyle Christiansen put the Shock on the board with a goal off an assist from Zerubbabel Beyene and Abanda Newanyuo for a 1-0 lead. Umar Gbadamosi tallied off another assist by Newanyuo in the 41st minute to make it 2-0 Shock, and that is how the score would remain by the end of regulation.

GBC will host Senior Day at Churchman Field on Wed., Oct. 26 against non-conference foe Bloomsburg at 3:30 p.m.
