Goldey-Beacom College fell to Wilmington University, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon.
Wilmington opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Yoshiki Fujisawa found the back of the net off assists from Mylan Le Baut and Sven Henneberg. The Wildcats doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Vaughn Clement scored, assisted by Fujisawa.
Goldey-Beacom finished with 12 shots and Wilmington recorded 16. Senior Derrick Muhire (Kigali, Rwanda) and junior Sam Ball (Salisbury, MD) led the Lightning with three shots each with sophomore Matt Porto (Wilmington, DE) adding two. Senior Josh Jensen (Johannesburg, South Africa), junior Santiago Vaca Diez (Sao Paulo, Brazil), freshman Yuma Reichert (Offenbach, Germany) and freshman Franek Sadczuk (Chester, England) each recorded one shot.
Senior Jamel Yasin (Sewell, NJ) made nine saves for the Lightning and Wilmington's Nick Kormann recorded seven.
With the result, Goldey-Beacom moves to 1-9-2 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Goldey-Beacom returns to action Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for its senior day game against Post University.
