Boxscore

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Goldey-Beacom women's soccer team allowed four first-half goals and could not find a way to regroup as the Lightning lost to Millersville, 5-0 on the road at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

The Marauders (1-1) wasted little time in getting on the board as Olivia Taylor's pass found Anne Grandfield who put in a shot not even three minutes into the game. Taylor would score two more of her own in the first half – the first at 8:45 and the next at 20:10.

Kate Moeller would add an unassisted goal nearing the end of the first half to give Millersville a 4-0 advantage at the half. Sarah Cameron would score the Marauders' fifth and final goal almost halfway through the second half.

Sophomore Kristin Degenhardt and freshman Alyssa Vetrano split time in net for GBC. Degenhardt got the start and made four saves and allowed four goals in the first half. Vetrano relieved Degenhardt in the second half and made eight saves and allowed one goal.

Sophomore midfielders Marissa Valladares and Taylor Faunt each took two shots on the afternoon. The Lightning were outshot 28-5 and Millersville took 10 corner kicks to GBC's none.
