Wilmington, DE – Volleyball drops close match to Bloomfield

The Lightning volleyball team played host against Bloomfield College in their homecoming match.  The first set very competitive, until the Lightning struggled against the service game and dropped the first set 25-19. 

In the second set, the Lightning again struggled against the service game, which allowed the Deacons to attack the ball hard.  Lightning setter Roni Shaner was able to help the Lightning remain close before ultimately dropping the second set 25-19. 

The Lightning fell behind quickly in the third set, but was led back into the match with kills from Chantal Pierre and Amanda Mills.  However, the Deacons were too strong, as the Lightning dropped the third set 25-20, and the match 3-0.  With the loss, the Lightning drop to 6-12 overall and 2-9 in the CACC.

The team will travel to Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 for a 7:00pm CACC match.
