Volleyball Splits Two at the Ram Rumble

Goldey-Beacom began its play at the Ram Rumble in Shepherdstown, WV with a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-15, 25-18) over Frostburg State before a 3-0 loss (16-25, 13-25, 16-25) to homestanding Shepherd.
 
In the Frostburg match, Goldey-Beacom grabbed the momentum in second set with a 12-8 kills edge that included a .320 hitting percentage.  Sophomore Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) recorded four kills in that span.
 
One match after recording a .650 hitting percentage Thursday versus Millersville, senior Baylee Brin (Salina, KS) kept her torrid play going with 10 kills and just one error over 16 swings for a .563 percentage.  Gingras pounded 10 kills, Brianna Anderson (Mesa, AZ) amassed 18 digs and fellow junior Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) added 16 assists for the Lightning.
 
Miranda Ball recorded 13 digs for the Bobcats.
 
Things went south against Shepherd, which recorded a 41-19 kills edge with a .318 hitting percentage.  This included a .433 mark in the second set with a 16-6 kills advantage.
 
Gingras had five kills with Malena adding nine digs and seven assists for the Lightning (2-1).  Amya Davis notched 10 kills and a .692 percentage for the Rams (2-0).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday faces Shaw at 11:00 am and Chestnut Hill after 5:00 pm.
