Volleyball Opens Season With 3-1 Win Over Millersville

Goldey-Beacom began its 2026 campaign with a 3-1 triumph (26-24, 25-16, 23-25, 25-11) over Millersville at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning in set one ended things on an 18-10 run with sophomore Gabi Fullwood (Powder Springs, GA), the reigning second team All-East Region pick and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year, along with senior Baylee Brin (Salina, KS) getting four kills apiece.
 
The teams split the next two sets before Goldey-Beacom ran roughshod in set four, scoring the first 12 points.  The Lightning (1-0) had a .500 hitting percentage in the set with 16 kills, compared to .000 and seven for the Marauders (0-1).
 
Brin was outstanding with 14 kills and one error over 20 attacks for a stunning .650 percentage.  Sophomore Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) pounded 12 kills with Fullwood recording nine and eight blocks.  Third team All-CACC selection Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) dished 26 assists, sophomore Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) notched 10, Brianna Anderson (Mesa, AZ) amassed 13 digs with fellow junior Etta Harris (North East, MD) adding 12 for the Lightning.
 
Alex Nava recorded nine kills and Addison Reustle had 29 assists for Millersville.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Friday is in action against Frostburg State after 3:00 pm and Shepherd after 7:00 pm.  Both matches are part of a weekend tournament in Shepherdstown, WV.
