Goldey-Beacom track and field competed at the two-day CACC Championship in Lakewood, NJ, seeing the women take a program-best second place finish with a score of 129 and the men place fifth with a score of 88. Georgian Court captured first for both the men and the women.
For the women on day one, in the 10,000 meter run, sophomore Tess Pearce (Manchester, England) placed second overall with a time of 42:03.19. In high jump, freshman Ana Thaler (Ljubljana, Slovenia) finished second and sophomore Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) tied for second place overall with jumps of 1.57m. Thaler also placed sixth in javelin with a throw of 28.87m. Freshman Anna Pissarotti (Italy) placed fourth with a jump of 1.52m. In long jump, Pissarotti placed fifth with a jump of 5.14m. In hammer throw, senior Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, PA) took second place with a throw of 41.65m.
On day two, In the 100-meter dash, junior Tania Alfaro (San Jose, Costa Rica) finished sixth with a time of 12.57 seconds and Thaler finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.44. Sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) was the conference champion in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.49 seconds and in the 400-meter dash with 57.30 seconds. Pissarotti took third place in the 400-meter hurdles with 1:03.47 and Pearce placed fourth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:33.58. Sophomore Ella Badra (Caracas, Venezuela) placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:17.99.In the field events, Rumph finished third in discus throw with a throw of 39.40m
For the men, on day one, in the 10,000 meter run, freshman Eerik Nou Wihlborg (Helsingborg, Sweden) placed second with a time of 33:09.11 and junior John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) finished seventh with 34:22.87.
On day two, in the 200-meter dash, junior Jose Cornejo (Sinaloa, Mexico) finished as the conference champion with a time of 21.63 seconds and in the 400-meter dash, junior Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) took home second place with a time of 48.25 seconds. Wright repeated as the 400-meter hurdles champion with a time of 54.21 seconds and sophomore David Yunga (Philadelphia, PA) grabbed third place with a time of 54.99 seconds. Eerik Nou Wihlborg placed second again in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:29.72. The 4x400 relay team also saw a second place finish with a time of 3:19.63.
