Baseball’s Winning Streak Reaches 11 With Twin-Bill Sweep at Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom ran its winning streak to 11 with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader sweep, 6-3 and 11-0, at Holy Family in Philadelphia, PA.

Goldey-Beacom in game one plated three runs in the top of the first inning.  Junior Bobby Stewart (Newark, DE) got things going with a sacrifice fly and sophomore Brent Williams (Woodstown NJ) added an RBI single.

The Tigers countered with two runs in the last of the frame, but the Lightning got those back in the top of the second thanks to a two-run double from sophomore Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE) for a 5-2 margin.

Keith got his third RBI of the contest with a sacrifice fly in the seventh for a 6-2 contest.

Mechanicsburg, PA senior Nate Miller (3-2) struck out four over six innings before sophomore Britton Wildasin (New Market, MD) got three strikeouts over three innings for his second collegiate save.  Williams and freshman Shawn Roy (New Castle, DE) closed with two hits apiece.

An early lead was the story in game two en route to the squad's fourth shutout of the season.  Freshman Kevin Dick Jr. (Millville, NJ) stepped to the plate in the top of the second, cracking a three-run homer for his second long ball of the campaign and a 3-0 GBC lead.

The Lightning put up a seven spot in the third for a 10-0 margin, highlighted by a two-run single each from Williams and Stewart.

Pennsauken, NJ senior Kory Williams (6-1) struck out six over five innings for his third consecutive win and fourth in the last five outings.  Dick drove home four with Williams amassing two and three RBI.

Jephson Hadson-Taylor had two of the three hits for the Tigers (15-20, 10-10 CACC).

Goldey-Beacom (24-11, 17-3) moved into sole possession of first place in the CACC, one game clear of Wilmington (16-4).

The Lightning record for most consecutive victories is 15, set last season.  The record for most consecutive league wins is 14, set over the 2024-25 campaigns.

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday hosts Dominican (NY) for a CACC doubleheader, beginning at noon.
