Goldey-Beacom baseball played game three of its series against Chestnut Hill on the road, but was dealt a 16-12 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss.
Chestnut Hill scored first in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI from Aiden Myers before GBC scored on a two-run single from Kaden Barmer (Edgewood, MD). The third inning saw the Lightning score on an RBI from Jaime Neris Jr. (Philadelphia, PA), a two-run double from Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE)Â and a two-run single from Joey Current (Denver, PA). Chestnut Hill notched one run in the inning on a double from Matthew Sharkey. Chestnut Hill then went on a run in the fourth inning, plating seven runs.
A two-run home run from Neris in the sixth inning brought the Lightning within one and a second two-run homer from Keith in the seventh inning gave GBC the one-run lead. A third home run from Jake Macey (Smyrna, DE) increased the lead to two in the eighth inning, but Chestnut Hill converted in the bottom of the inning to score six runs.Â
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Wednesday in a doubleheader against Wilmington (DE) in New Castle, DE.
