Baseball Dealt 13-5 Loss by Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom fell for just the second time in its last 15 contests with a 13-5 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to Holy Family at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.
 
The Tigers grabbed control with five runs in the eighth inning for a 9-5 lead.  Christian Mote and Griffin Richardson each had an RBI single, Alex Camilo got one home on a fielder's choice, Andres Rivera was hit with the based loaded and Perry Chetney walked with the sacks juiced.
 
Sophomores Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE) and Zach Smethers (Nazareth, PA) each had two hits and senior Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) struck out five over 6 2/3 innings.
 
Andres Rivera had five RBI that included a three-run double in the ninth with Chetney recording three hits and three RBI for Holy Family (18-21, 13-11 CACC).  Grant Carlton (1-3) struck out two over two innings.
 
Goldey-Beacom (26-13, 19-5 CACC) saw its lead atop the CACC reduced to one game over Wilmington (18-6) after the latter rolled to a 21-2 thumping of Lincoln (PA).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday steps out of conference to visit No. 8 West Chester for a 3:00 pm contest.
