Baseball Wins Game Three at Dominican

Goldey-Beacom faced Dominican (NY) in Pomona, NY and came away with a 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory.

Goldey-Beacom scored in the opening inning on an RBI single from sophomore Jake Macey (Smyrna, DE) before Dominican evened the score in the bottom of the inning on a run from Erick Diaz. The Lightning saw another RBI single from sophomore Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE) in the third inning before Dominican yet again evened the score on an RBI triple by AJ Giannetti. The third run for the Lightning came from Macey on a sacrifice fly that plated freshman Shawn Roy (New Castle, DE) and gave the Lightning a 3-2 lead.

That lead stood up through the eighth inning, when Davin Keddell-Tuckey lined what looked like the tying single up the middle.  However, center fielder Trey Mason (Germantown, MD) made a perfect throw to the plate that nailed Byron Arias and ended the inning.

Senior Kevin Dillon (Mount Bethel, PA) recorded the last four outs for his eighth career save and a new school record.  He extended his own mark with his seventh save of the year.

Roy and Macey both finished with two hits apiece.  Frederica, DE sophomore Cody Klotz (1-0) pitched 1 1/3 innings out of the bullpen for the save.

The victory clinched Goldey-Beacom's sixth consecutive berth in the CACC Tournament.

Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday, when it hosts Holy Family at Doyle Field in Hockessin for a 2:00 pm game.
