Baseball Falls, 18-5, at East Stroudsburg

In a matchup of elite programs looking to make their way back into the national rankings, Goldey-Beacom was dealt an 18-5 loss by East Stroudsburg in East Stroudsburg, PA.
 
The Warriors in the last of the first inning opened the scoring with five runs, keyed by Connor Reilly's grand slam.  The lead grew to 7-0 in the third with Troy Davis scoring on an error and Zander Condeelis adding an RBI single.
 
Sophomore Roman Keith (Selbyville, DE) blasted a two-run homer for the Lightning in the top of the fourth and added an RBI single in the sixth.  Junior Matt Murphy (Voorhees, NJ) lined an RBI single later in the sixth and sophomore Connor Wilson (Clayton, DE) got a run-scoring single in the ninth.
 
Keith and Murphy closed with two hits apiece for GBC (4-7).
 
Reilly and Condeelis had two hits apiece with Peyton Brannock striking out eight over 5 1/3 innings for the Warriors (7-5).
 
Goldey-Beacom this weekend faces Queens (NY) in a four-game series.  Please note all of those games will be played at Diamond Nation in Flemington, NJ with a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, both starting at noon.
