Baseball Makes it Six Straight With 11-4 Triumph Over Lincoln

Senior Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) recorded a career-best 12 strikeouts, freshman Shawn Roy (New Castle, DE) rapped three hits and sophomore Zach Smethers (Nazareth, PA) added a two-run homer for Goldey-Beacom in an 11-4 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference triumph over Lincoln (PA) at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.
 
Williams tossed eight innings and notched eight strikeouts over the last four in helping the Lightning (19-11, 12-3 CACC) to their sixth straight win.  Williams' previous best was a 10-strikeout outing February 14, 2025 against Mercy.
 
Goldey-Beacom in the first plated four runs for a 4-1 lead, keyed by Smethers' long ball.  GBC got four more in the third for a 9-3 margin.  Roy, pressed into service at second base, capped the rally with an RBI double.
 
Roy added an RBI single in the seventh to give the home side a 10-3 lead.
 
Senior Joey Current (Denver, PA), sophomore Tyee Irving (Milford, DE) and junior Trey Mason (Germantown, MD) had two hits apiece for the Lightning, who ended with 13 hits.
 
Frederick Perry had two of the six hits for the Lions (5-18, 2-12).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Thursday hosts Georgian Court for a CACC doubleheader, beginning at noon.
