Women’s Track and Field Opens 2025-26 Season at The Fastrack National Invite

Goldey-Beacom track and field teams traveled to Staten Island, NY to compete in the Fastrack National Invite for the first meet of the 2025-26 season. Last season, the men claimed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for the first time in program history and the women finished third overall in the conference, leaving both teams with high hopes for this season.

On the men's side in the 60-meter dash, freshman Quran McCoy (Mays Landing, N.J.) finished 56th with a time of 7.48 seconds and junior Zach Phy (Lancaster, PA) placed 58th with 7.50 seconds. In the 800-meter run, freshman Cardin Benjamin (Lewes, DE) finished with a time of 2:04.86. 

Junior Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE), a CACC Champion in the 400-meter hurdles and track athlete of the year last season, placed 16th overall in the 400-meter dash with 50.16 and sophomore David Yunga (Philadelphia, PA) placed 52nd with 52.00. Wright also placed 26th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.39. 

Senior Kedar Reid (Bear, DE) and sophomore Matt Haight (Bear, DE) finished with times of 55.84 and 58. 48 in the event. The 3000 meter run saw freshman  Eerik Nou Wihlborg (Helsingborg, Sweden) finish seventh with a time of 8:52.48 and junior John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) place 28th with 9:23.17. Junior Bostwick Patten (Middletown, DE) finished 58th in the 200-meter dash with 23.13, while junior Chris Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) and McCoy finished with times of 23.80 and 24.20. 

In the field events, freshman Tony Huynh (Silver Spring, MD) threw a distance of 10.60m in the shot put and senior Jayvon Laguerre (Milford, DE) jumped a height of 1.90m in the high jump.

For the women, in the 60-meter dash, junior Tania Alfaro (San Jose, Costa Rica) placed ninth with a time of 8.13 seconds, sophomore Narlia Albert (Vieux Fort, St. Lucia) finished 34th with 8.54, and sophomore Lara Zinsou-Bodé (Reinbek, Germany) placed 44th with 8.72. In the 800-meter run, sophomore Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) placed 32nd with 2:24.25 and freshman Maddie Strayer (York, PA) finished with a time of 2:48.21. The 1-mile run saw sophomore Ella Badra (Caracas, Venezuela) place 68th with 5:40.39.

In the 400-meter dash, sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.), last season's CACC track rookie of the year, finished 36th with 1:00.97 and sophomore Aiyana Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) placed 74th with 1:04.37. Sophomore Tess Pearce (Manchester, England) finished 46th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:46.42. In the 200-meter dash, Dixon placed 13th with 26.24, freshman Anna Pissarotti (Italy) finished 51st with 27.27, and senior Kaylah Hill (Brooklyn, N.Y) finished with a time of 31.36. 

In the field events, Drewling placed 12th in long jump with a jump of 4.95m and freshman Ana Thaler (Ljubljana, Slovenia) had a jump of 4.68m. In shot put, senior Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, Pa.) placed seventh with a throw of 11.78m and freshman Abby Williams (San Angelo, Texas) had a throw of 9.28m. In weight throw, Rumph finished 11th with a throw of 13.72m. In high jump, Thaler captured third with a jump of 1.60m and Pissarotti and Drewling both finished with a jump of 1.50m.

Both teams return to action next weekend, where they will compete at the Widener Indoor Classic on February 13th and 14th.
