Goldey-Beacom Gets Three Picked for CACC Weekly Honors

2/16/2026 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom this week saw senior Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, sophomore Jaime Neris Jr. (Philadelphia, PA) picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll and junior Emarquis Jones (Brooklyn, NY) selected to the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Williams tossed six scoreless innings, striking out five and allowing just three hits in Goldey-Beacom's 1-0 victory Saturday over Franklin Pierce.

Williams last season had a solid campaign in which he recorded 51 strikeouts, the ninth-best single-season mark in program annals.  He went on a three-game winning streak from March 7-26 in which he notched 23 strikeouts over 18 1/3 innings.

Neris Jr. batted .455 (5-for-11) on the week with two doubles, three RBI and a 1.261 OPS.  He went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI on Friday against Franklin Pierce before going 2-for-3 on Saturday, also vs. Franklin Pierce.

Neris Jr. this season looks for extended playing time after competing in 17 games a year ago with five starts.

Jones ended with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists, two blocks and was 6-for-6 from the foul line in Goldey-Beacom's 89-79 victory Wednesday over Georgian Court.

Jones is a major reason the Lightning will compete in the CACC Tournament a third straight year.  He is averaging 16.3 points over his last three contests and is 13th in the league with 13.9 points per game.

The Baseball team (3-1) this week makes it second trip to Cary, beginning Friday with a doubleheader against Frostburg State.

The Men's Basketball squad (17-7, 11-5 CACC) on Tuesday visits Jefferson for an 8:00 pm game.  The Lightning can clinch a home quarterfinal game in the CACC Tournament with a victory.
