Goldey-Beacom track and field teams competed at the Widener Indoor Classic over the weekend and had a strong showing from both the men and the women.
For the men, junior Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) placed ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.06 seconds. In the 400-meter, junior Bostwick Patten (Middletown, DE) finished 21st with a time of 51.10, junior Chris Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) placed 24th with 51.34, and sophomore David Yunga (Philadelphia, PA) finished 36th with 52.13. In the field events, senior Jayvon Laguerre (Milford, DE) placed 30th in long with a jump of 5.70m and 12th in high jump with a jump of 1.90m
For the women, in the 200-meter dash, sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.) placed 14th with a time of 25.98. In the 400-meter, sophomore Aiyana Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) finished 42nd with 1:04.42 and in the 800-meter, sophomore Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) placed 22nd with 2:23.94. Sophomore Ella Badra (Caracas, Venezuela) finished 40th with a time of 5:36.52.
In the field events, senior Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, PA) placed 16th in weight throw with a throw of 13.51m and 23rd in shot put with a throw of 10.93m. Also in shot put, Abby Williams (San Angelo, Texas) finished 46th with a throw of 7.71m. In long jump, Drewling placed 23rd with a jump of 4.92m and sophomore Lara Zinsou-Bodé (Reinbek, Germany) finished 30th with a jump of 4.46m. In high jump, freshman Ana Thaler (Ljubljana, Slovenia) placed sixth with a jump of 1.55m and freshman Anna Pissarotti (Italy) finished 13th with a jump of 1.50m
Both teams return to action on Friday at the Penn State Tune-Up in University Park, PA at 2:00 pm.
