Volleyball Notches Two Victories in its Tri-Match

Goldey-Beacom opened things with a 3-0 rout (25-11, 25-13, 25-16) of Lincoln before a thrilling 3-2 triumph (25-21, 25-14, 18-25, 13-25, 15-9) over Kutztown at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
In the first match, the Lightning owned a 32-18 kills edge with a .224 hitting percentage and forced the Lions into 21 errors and a -.041 percentage.
 
Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) closed with 13 assists, fellow sophomore Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) notched 11 and sophomore Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, PR) had 13 digs.  Junior Kloe Waymel (Mulhouse, France) and freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) recorded six kills apiece.
 
Ashley Fru dished 14 assists and Donavyn Morris added 11 digs for Lincoln (0-10).
 
The fifth set of the Kutztown match belonged to junior Baylee Brin (Salina, KS), who pounded six kills in addition to getting a block assist.  Goldey-Beacom (7-7) took control with a 5-2 run for a 13-7 lead in which freshman Cassie Hall (Williamsburg, VA) had two kills with Brin and sophomore Gabi Fullwood (Powder Springs, GA) adding one apiece.
 
Brin closed with a season-best 17 kills, Fullwood notched 14 with Gingras adding 13 and 22 digs for her third double-double of the season.  Malena dished a career-best 50 assists to go with 16 digs for her sixth double-double of the year, Fernandez had 25 digs and junior Giuliani Jaku (Belluno, Italy) added 15 digs.
 
Madilyn Bogovic had 25 kills and 15 digs, Paige Skinner notched 23 and 15 with Emma Baldridge getting 57 assists and 17 digs for the Golden Bears (6-6)
 
Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday is at Georgian Court for a 6:00 pm match in Lakewood, NJ.
