Goldey-Beacom women's soccer faced Holy Family in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play and came away with a 1-1 tie after a last minute goal in the final seconds from junior Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ).
The Lightning came out strong in the first half, taking six shots while holding their opponent to only four and keeping the game scoreless after 45 minutes. The second half saw a similar style of play until the 79th minute when Holy Family found the back of the net on a penalty kick from Bridget Dickson. Yeager, on the assist from sophomore Tess Pearce (Manchester, England) scored the tying goal with 37 seconds left, giving the Lightning their first tie of the season.
Sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.) took eight shots, five of which were on goal, while freshman Malaika Nunziata (Cape Town, South Africa) finished with seven saves.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday, where they travel to Staten Island, NY to play a non-conference match against Staten Island at 12:00pm.
