Goldey-Beacom men's soccer was dealt a tough 4-0 loss against Caldwell in Wilmington, DE at the Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.
Caldwell opened things in the first half in the 21st minute of play on an unassisted goal by Hakon Rake and scored again in the 39th minute on a goal by Roy Torjman, assisted by Camilo Murillo. Caldwell continued to keep things rolling in the second half when Darius Holmes had an impressive forward pass to give Torjman his second goal of the game. The fourth and final goal for Caldwell came in the 83rd minute by Jonathan Del Cid, assisted by Ingebrigt Braenden on a free kick.
Sophomore Pedro Montanes (Zaragoza, Spain) finished with four saves and fellow sophomore Sam Ball (Salisbury, Md) led the Lightning with three shots.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday, where they travel to Philadelphia, PA to face Holy Family in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at 4:00pm.
