Baseball Gets Three Tabbed Second Team All-CACC

5/7/2025 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom baseball team produced another outstanding campaign and that season saw Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE), fellow senior Mikey Hawbaker (Hagerstown, MD) and junior Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) each picked second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Dickerson arrived in Pike Creek this season and gave the Lightning incredible power, consistent hitting and an abundance of enthusiasm both as the first baseman and designated hitter.  He leads the squad with 18 multi-RBI contests, 17 multi-hit games and recorded a two-homer, five-RBI contest March 30 vs. Holy Family.

Dickerson is tied for third in the CACC with a school-record 60 RBI, tied for fourth with 10 home runs, tied for fifth with 16 doubles and tied for 22nd with 53 hits.  The doubles are third on the school's single-season list history and the home runs are tied for sixth.

Coming off a solid 2024 in which he had four wins and 23 strikeouts, Hawbaker more than added to that and became one of Goldey-Beacom's go-to pitchers.  Shutting down the opposition at key times, Hawbaker (5-2) is 4-1 over his last six starts in notching two games with at least seven strikeouts and three with at least six innings.

He is tied for sixth in the league with a 3.40 ERA, seventh with a .252 batting average against, ninth with five wins and 14th with 47 strikeouts.  His wins are tied for sixth on the school's single-season list and his strikeouts are ninth.

Charles is a productive hitter who has been a mainstay in the lineup, primarily in right field.  Five times this season he has notched at least three hits in a contest, including a season-best 4-for-4 showing with five RBI on April 10 vs. Bloomfield.

He is tied for second in the CACC with 11 home runs, tied for ninth with 46 RBI, tied for 12th with 61 hits, tied for 16th with 11 doubles and 25th with a .341 batting average.  Charles' home runs are tied for third on the Lightning's single-season list, his RBI are ninth and his hits are tied for ninth.

Goldey-Beacom (34-19, 23-11 CACC) this season is ranked second in the latest NCAA East Region rankings, has been nationally ranked since April 2 and made the CACC Tournament a fifth consecutive year.  The Lightning recorded a school-record 15-game winning streak and started a team-best 12-0 in the CACC, making it 14 straight league triumphs dating to last season.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Show is Sunday at 10:30 pm on NCAA.com.
