Women’s Track and Field Secures Third Place at the CACC Championship; Multiple Athletes Claim Podium Finishes

Goldey-Beacom delivered a standout performance on day two of the CACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, with the men's team making history by capturing the program's first conference title. The women's team also finished strong, earning a third-place finish. The men finished with a team score of 127, beating out Georgian Court for first by two points, securing the win in dramatic fashion during the final race of the day. The women closed with a team score of 81.50.

On the men's side, senior Dev Napier (Hagerstown, Md.) repeated as the 100 meter dash champion with a time of 10.50 seconds and also secured the first place victory in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.45 seconds. Sophomore Jalen Wright finished as  both the 400 meter champion and 400 meter hurdles champion with times of 47.63 seconds and 52.91 seconds. Wright also claimed third place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.04 seconds. Junior Sebastien Lacroix (Hamilton, NJ) grabbed third place in shot put with a throw of 15.01m.

Senior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) took home second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.45 and third place in the 1500 meter run with 4:03.54. Freshman Kalle Ohlund (Huskvarna, Sweden) claimed third place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:56.72. The men's 4x400 meter relay, which was run by Dev Napier, sophomore Chris Robinson (Philadelphia, PA), freshman Lathan Love-Brown (Wilmington, DE), and Jalen Wright, was the deciding race for the team's championship win, and the Lightning brought home the win with a time of 3:17.32.

On the women's side, freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) claimed second place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.79 and third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.16 seconds. Freshman Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) grabbed third place in the 800 meter run with 2:21.17 and second place in high jump with a jump of 1.58m. 

Both teams finished the highest they have as a program and look to carry these accomplishments into the NCAA Championship on May 22-24 in Pueblo, CO.
