Goldey-Beacom track and field teams competed at the two-day Lions Invitational in Ewing, NJ, with both teams having solid showings.
On the men's side, in the 100 meter dash, freshman Zay McAllister (Bordentown, Nj) closed 23rd with a time of 11.39 seconds, sophomore Brian Hamilton placed 47th with 11.94 seconds, and sophomore Marquise Carey (Wilmington, De) finished 62nd in 13.63 seconds. In the 110 meter hurdles, freshman David Yunga (Philadelphia, Pa) finished 22nd overall with a time of 17.57 seconds. The 200 meter dash saw Hamilton finish 41st with a time of 24.03 seconds.
In the 400 meter, senior Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, De) placed 34th with a time of 53.56 seconds and freshman Matthew Haight finished 46th with 54.92. Yunga set a personal best in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.11 seconds and placed fourth, while Ali-Bentley placed 15th with 1:01.12 and sophomore Zach Phy (Lancaster, Pa.) closed 16th with 1:03.10. The 1500 meter run saw senior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) place 11th and set a new school record with a time of 4:07.26. Freshman Kalle Ohlund (Huskvarna, Sweden) set a personal best with a time of 4:07.64, placing 14th, and sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, Md.) also set his personal best with a time of 4:15.82 and finished 26th. Senior Yusef Shakur (Townsend, De) and freshman Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, Wa) placed 40th and 43rd respectively, with times of 4:34.55 and 4:54.98.
The men's 4x100 meter relay finished in fourth with a time of 43.80, and was run by junior Kedar Reid (Bear, De), Zay McAllister, Brian Hamilton, and freshman Ty'Shawn Ewings (Harrisburg, Pa). The 4x400 meter finished in fourth with a time of 3:46.22, and was run by Yusef Shakur, John Ferry, Kalle Ohlund, and Zach Phy.
In the field events, junior Sebastien Lacroix (Hamilton, Nj) placed 13th in discus throw with a distance of 40.97m and 15th in shot put with a throw of 13.37m.
On the women's side, freshman
Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ.)Â placed second overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.38 seconds and senior
Karla Chardon (Penns Grove, NJ.) finished eighth with 12.89 seconds. Freshman
Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) placed 24th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.19 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Dixon grabbed third place with a time of 25.27 seconds, Chardon placed 17th with 27.17 seconds, and freshman
Aiyanna Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa) set a personal best with 28.11 seconds and finished 28th. Dixon also notched a ninth place finish in the 400 meter with a time of 59.56 seconds and Adams placed 19th with 1:04.73.
The 400 meter hurdles saw senior
Ny'jashia Smith (Newark, De) finish in ninth with a time of 1:12.30. Senior
Izzy Popoff (Cicero, N.Y.) placed 39th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:38.73 and 22nd in the 1500 meter run with 5:17.51. The women's 4x100 meter relay saw a second place finish with a time of 53.16 seconds, and was run by senior

In the field events, junior
Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, Pa) finished 15th in discus throw with a distance of 35.46m and 16th in shot put with a throw of 11.20m. Also in shot put, freshman
Dominique Lewis (Salem, Nj) finished 25th with a throw of 10.46m. In long jump, Drewling finished eighth with a jump of 5.31m.Â
Both teams are set to compete in the CACC Championships on Friday and Saturday in Lakewood, NJ. Friday has a 1:00 pm start time and Saturday's events begin at 10:00 am.Â
