Track and Field Excels at Oscar Moore Invitational

Goldey-Beacom track and field teams traveled to Glassboro, NJ to compete in the Oscar Moore Invitational where both teams had strong showings.

On the men's side in the track events, sophomore Chris Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) placed 10th in the 400 meter with a time of 51.42 seconds, while junior Kedar Reid (Bear, DE) finished 35th with 55.74 seconds. In the 400 meter hurdles race, sophomore Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) grabbed a first place finish with a time 54.31 seconds. Freshman David Yunga (Philadelphia, PA) placed fourth with 56.86 seconds and sophomore Zach Phy (Lancaster, PA) finished 15th with 1:02.77.

The men's 800 meter run saw freshman Lathan Love-Brown (Wilmington, DE) place 20th with a time of 2:00.95. In the 1,500 meter run, senior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) finished 15th with 4:17.82 and freshman Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, WA) finished 44th with a time of 4:47.40. In the 5,000 meter run, freshman Kalle Ohlund (Huskvarna, Sweden) finished third overall with a time of 15:46.48, sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) placed eighth with 16:05.06, and senior Yusef Shakur (Townsend, DE) finished 19th with 17:23.65.

In the field events, junior Sebastien Lacroix (Hamilton, NJ) was the lone competitor for the men, placing 11th in discus throw with a distance of 36.22m and 14th in shot put with a throw of 11.80m.

On the women's side, Freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.), the current Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Track Athlete and Rookie of the week, had yet another impressive meet, placing first in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash with times of 12.53 seconds and 25.39 seconds. 

The 400 meter run saw freshman Aiyanna Adams (Pittsburgh, PA) place eighth with a time of 1:04.20 and senior Kaylah Hill (Brooklyn, NY) finish 17th with 1:12.35. In the 800 meter run, freshman Liv Drewling (Düsseldorf, Germany) placed 17th with a time of 2:23.00 and senior Ny'jashia Smith (Newark, DE) finished 43rd with 2:42.96. The 1500 meter run saw seniors Izzy Popoff (Cicero, N.Y.) and Madelynn Cool (Smyrna, DE) finish 42nd and 45th.

In the field events, junior Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, PA) placed seventh in discus throw with a distance of 31.72m and ninth in shot put with a throw of 31.72m. Freshman Dominique Lewis (Salem, NJ) finished 11th in shot put with a throw of 10.19m and 23rd in discus with 21.39m. Junior Madison McGowan (Bristow, VA) finished 15th in shot put with 9.41m and junior Maya White Eagle (Barboo, WI) placed 16th with 9.23m.

Both teams are back in action on Friday, where they compete in the two-day Paul Donahue Invitational in Chester, PA.
