Junior Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) was outstanding on the mound over six innings in helping Goldey-Beacom notch a 6-2 victory over D'Youville at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.

Williams (1-2) was in total control over seven innings for his first victory in the Navy Blue and Vegas Gold, striking out six in allowing just one run and five hits.

His first bit of help came in the opening frame, when the Lightning took a 1-0 lead.  Senior Christian Petrillo (New Brunswick, NJ) had a leadoff single, took second on a bunt single from junior Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) and scored on an RBI single from senior Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE).

GBC then plated four runs in the sixth for a 5-0 lead.  Senior Mitch Jolikko (Middletown, DE) smacked a two-run homer, freshman Max Lopuhovsky (Scranton, PA) lined an RBI double and senior Matt Benner (Souderton, PA) added a sacrifice fly.

Jonathan Simpson cracked a leadoff homer in the seventh and Kevin Del Vecchio added his own blast to start the eighth for the Saints to make it a 5-2 margin.  However, senior Adam McEvoy (Sewell, NJ) gave GBC breathing room with a leadoff homer in the last of the eighth to close the scoring.

Charles and Jolikko had two hits apiece for the Lightning (7-5).

Chris Auclair (1-2) struck out seven over 5 1/3 innings for D'Youville (2-7) and Billy Morris had two hits.

This teams on Saturday will play an 11:00 am doubleheader in Hockessin.
