Game Recap: Baseball |

Baseball Runs Winning Streak to 15 with Two Victories Over Holy Family

Senior Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE) homered twice in game one and closed the day with seven RBI as part of Goldey-Beacom's school-record 14th and 15th consecutive victories in his squad's 12-6 and 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference triumphs over Holy Family at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.

Dickerson in game one was responsible for the Lightning's first four runs.  He had an RBI double in the first inning and clubbed a no-doubt, three-run homer in the second for a 4-0 margin.

GBC (22-6, 12-0 CACC) plated three more runs in the sixth for an 8-3 lead as Dickerson hit a solo homer, Adam McEvoy (Sewell, NJ) rapped an RBI single and fellow senior Dante DiSabatino (Middletown, DE) added a run-scoring double.

Sophomore Bobby Stewart (Newark, DE) added insurance with a three-run blast in the eighth for his sixth long ball of the campaign, tied for the team best.

Dickerson had three hits and five RBI with senior Christian Petrillo (New Brunswick, NJ) adding three hits.  Downingtown, PA junior Connor Blence (1-0) was outstanding in recording his first GBC win, striking out eight over 5 2/3 frames.

Nick Lomardo went 4-for-4 for the Tigers.

The Lightning in game two saw Fords, NJ senior Ryan Pozo (3-0) in total control on the bump, striking out four over six innings.  Senior Gage Bendix (Piscataway, NJ) tossed a perfect seventh inning for his fourth save of the season and sixth career, the latter being just one off the school record held by Karl Schmidt (2021-24).

GBC got all of its offense in the third inning with Dickerson ripping a two-run single and senior Braden Kolmansberger (Lewisberry, PA) adding an RBI double.

Dickerson now leads the squad with 28 RBI, is tied for first with a .341 batting average and is second with five home runs.

Casey Murphy pitched great for Holy Family (10-14, 5-7), striking out four over six innings.

The Lightning's 14-game CACC winning streak extends the squad's record.

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday hosts Bloomfield for a noon doubleheader in Hockessin.
