Goldey-Beacom Esports team began its first spring season with a 2-0 victory over Nazareth gold in Valorant NECC, winning the first map 13-10 and the second 13-6.
The match saw five active players for the Lightning, consisting of David "Toon3rd" Hale (Plainfield, Ill.), Caleb "Hatch" Visinsky (Somerset, PA), Stephen "Anhelo" Quinn (Oceanview, DE), Layton "Squid" Evans and Kaitlyn "AndyLikesCake" Woodington.
Visinski finished the match with 59 kills and led all players, recording 31 kills on map one and 28 kills on map two. Hale added a strong 47 kills between the two maps, with 27 on the first and 20 on the second. Woodington had her debut match with the squad and finished with a total of 13 kills.
The Valorant NECC squad is back in action on Monday, where the match up against Pace Dinoco Blue at 9pm.
