Goldey-Beacom men's and women's track teams traveled to Chester, PA to compete in the Widener Indoor Classic over the course of two days, with day one hosting throwing events and day two having track and jumping events.
The lone athlete for the men's team was Sebastien Lacroix (Hamilton, N.J.), who competed in shot put and saw a 34th place finish with a throw of 12.14m (39 '10").
Leading the Lightning on the women's side, freshman Dominique Lewis (Salem, N.J.) competed in both weight throw and shot put. Lewis grabbed a 15th place finish in weight throw with a throw of 13.03m (42'9") and a 26th place finish in shot put with a distance of 10.25m (33' 7.5"). Junior's Jourdyn Rumph (Ardmore, Pa.), Madison McGowan (Bristow, PA), and Maya White Eagle (Baraboo, WI) also competed in the shot put event on day one. Rumph saw a 25th place finish with a throw of 10.26m (33'8"), Mcgowan grabbed 42nd with 8.82m (28' 11.25"), and White Eagle finished 43rd with 8.59m (28 '2.25").
Both teams return to the Widener Indoor Classic in Chester, PA on Saturday for Day Two, with events beginning at 3pm.
