Goldey-Beacom Esports team played its first Marvel Rivals match against Caldwell and came away with a thrilling 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory.
GBC won map one (Tokyo 2099:Spider-Islands) and map two (Yggdrasill Path), but Caldwell came back to take maps three (Hall of Djalia) and four (Royal Palace) to send the game to a tiebreaker. In map five (Hell's Heaven), freshman Marquise "MrGhost" Carey pulled out a flawless 15 kills and zero death match to help push the team to victory. Caleb "Hatch" Visinski maintained over 50 percent accuracy on Hela throughout the series, Tyler "Typhoon" Bacinelli and David "Toon3rd" Hale combined for a massive 58 thousand healing output on map three, and Layton "Squid" Evans managed 106 kills on the night.
The Marvel Rivals squad is back in action on Friday, where they face Post at 7pm.
