Goldey-Beacom volleyball took on Caldwell at the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE and came away with a 3-0 sweep over its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent.
GBC captured the first two sets 25-16 after having a dominating performance on the offensive end, hitting .455 and .300 and holding its opponent to .120 and .065. The third set saw a 25-19 victory for the Lightning, with a similar trend of Goldey-Beacom having a strong offensive showing in the set.
Sophomore Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) again was a big story, recording 40 assists to become the eighth in school history to reach 1,000 career. She also had 11 digs for her 15th double-double of the season and sixth straight.
Freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) recorded 11 kills, junior Baylee Brin (Salina, KS) added nine and sophomore Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, PR) led the defense with 16 digs.
Caldwell was led by Wyette Schubert-Brow with seven kills and Jordan Mack with 10 digs.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Wednesday, when it travels to Philadelphia, PA to face Chestnut Hill at 7:00 pm.
