Goldey-Beacom Cross Country sent a total of seven runners, one for the women and six for the men, to the NCAA Regional in Hopkinton, NH and saw a strong race from all competitors.
Freshman Eerik Nou Wihlborg (Helsingborg, Sweden) was the top performer for the men's squad, placing 14th with a time of 32:44.83. It is believed to be the best individual showing for the squad as records only date to 2010.
Senior Kosiani Dunkley (Saint Catherine, Jamaica) finished 37th in 33:52.46, sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) placed 43rd in 34:04.51 and sophomore Manny Carreno (New Castle, DE) finished 90th in 37:18.22. Freshman Raine Siwicki (Martinsville, Va.) and sophomore Aquillino Rozanski (Olympia, WA) wrapped the race for GBC with times of 38:34.32 and 38:52.29, respectively.
The men placed a school-record 12th overall with a team score of 278. The previous best was a 15th-place showing two years ago.
For the women, senior Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) was the lone runner to compete and placed 70th with a time of 25:53.01.
The participants for the NCAA Championships are slated to be announced Monday after 5:00 pm.
