Volleyball Takes Charge in 3-1 Triumph at Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom dominated things in the final two sets and left East Falls with a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory (25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18) at Jefferson.

Goldey-Beacom in the first set ending things with a 19-7 run after falling into an 11-6 hole.  Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT), the reigning CACC Rookie of the Week, had five of her six kills in that spurt with junior Baylee Brin (Salina, KS) overall notching three.

A close loss in the second set for the Lightning was undone by a resounding triumph in the third.  Goldey-Beacom (12-11, 6-4 CACC) forced Jefferson into 11 errors with just three itself and recorded a .308 hitting percentage.  Sophomore Gabi Fullwood (Powder Springs, GA) had five kills in the set with Gingras adding three for the Lightning.

That momentum continued into the fourth set, when the Lightning had 13 kills to just four errors.  Fullwood and Gingras totaled four kills apiece with junior Giuliana Jaku (Belluno, Italy) adding three.

Malena closed with 38 assists and 19 digs for her 12th double-double of the season, Gingras recorded 15 kills and a .371 attack percentage, Fullwood notched 13 kills and sophomore Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, PR) added 19 digs.
