Men’s Basketball Reveals 2025-26 Schedule

10/23/2025 12:00:00 AM

(2025-26 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom's men's basketball squad always has put forth a competitive unit and that looks to continue against another challenging schedule which the squad has announced.

GBC plays six of its first eight contests away from home, beginning with a tip-off tournament in Washington, DC on November 14 against D'Youville and the next day vs. the District of Columbia.  The squad plays its home opener November 21 against West Chester before beginning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on the 25th at Caldwell.

Wilmington (DE) always provides a tough test and the squads will battle December 9 in Newark.  GBC visits Adelphi on December 21 and on New Year's Eve hosts Franklin Pierce.

January 3 will be a massive test at reigning league champion Bridgeport before a trip three days later to Georgian Court.  Goldey-Beacom then plays its next four at home, most notably January 14 vs. Jefferson.

GBC hosts Wilmington on February 3 before playing four of its next five on the road.  The regular season ends February 28 vs. Bridgeport at the Jones Center.  Their encounter last season in Pike Creek saw the Lightning rally from 68-50 down with 6:29 left for a stunning 86-82 overtime victory.

In a change this season, each team faces each conference opponent twice with the North and South Divisions eliminated.  Eight teams still will go to the conference tournament with the quarterfinals on March 3 and championship weekend March 7-8 in Caldwell, NJ.

Sophomore guard Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) returns after a stellar debut campaign as a prolific scorer.  He scored in double figures nine times in the Lightning's last 10 contests, closed 21st in the league with 12.0 points per game and 15th with 43 three-pointers.

Sophomore guard Anthony Akande (Newark, NJ) hopes to get more than the 11 starts he had last season.  He scored 13 points against Saint Thomas Aquinas and 10 vs. Millersville.

Junior Julian Williams (Fayetteville, NC) last season competed in 18 contests and netted a season-high 10 points against Bloomfield.  Sophomores Vinicius Paixao (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) and Brian Blanchet (North Babylon, NY) look to compete after not playing a season ago.

Juniors Emarquis Jones (Brooklyn, NY), Masud Stewart (Philadelphia PA) and Elisha Brown (Bowie, MD) all join the Lightning looking to make an impact.

Goldey-Beacom last season had yet another productive campaign in which it played in the CACC Tournament for a seventh time in its last eight competitive seasons.  The team also has notched double-digit league wins in six of those campaigns.
