Women’s Soccer Sees Two Picked for CACC Weekly Honors

Goldey-Beacom saw freshman Malaika Nunziata (Cape Town, South Africa) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week and sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll.

Nunziata went 2-0 on the week with 11 saves. She made eight saves Wednesday in Goldey-Beacom's 2-0 victory over D'Youville before getting three Saturday in her team's 6-2 triumph at Post.

Nunziata has been a standout in her first season with the Lightning, posting 65 saves over 12 games. She had 13 saves September 16 at Chestnut Hill and 10 saves September 7 at Mercy.

Dixon closed the week with two goals and an assist over two games. She netted the first goal Wednesday vs. D'Youville before getting a goal and an assist Saturday at Post.

Dixon again has been on a tear, leading the squad with seven goals and 17 points to put her at 13 and 35 career. This came after Dixon was picked the CACC Women's Track Rookie of the Year, helped by her closing second in the 200-meter dash, third in the 400-meter dash, fourth in the 100-meter dash and fourth with the 4x400-meter relay team.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday hosts No. 15 Jefferson at 3:00 pm.
