Goldey-Beacom women's soccer honored their four seniors, Teagan Ayers (Millersburg, Pa.), Sofia Bolado Vega (Cantabria, Spain), Alexa Ceci (Lothian, Md.) and Tess Pearce (Manchester, England), before the 2-0 victory against D'Youville.
This victory gave the Lightning their fourth of the season and continued the streak to seven straight unbeaten contests. The seven-game unbeaten streak (4-0-3) ties the school record from 2017, when Goldey-Beacom started the season 6-0-1.
Sophomore Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.) scored the first goal for GBC and her sixth of the season on a header assist from freshman Maria Munoz (Cascais, Portugal) in the 40th minute. The Lightning's second goal came from freshman Nova Gafvert (Eskilstuna, Sweden) on a free kick in the 85th minute, where she found the top right corner of the goal for her first goal of the season.
Freshman Malaika Nunziata (Cape Town, South Africa), the current Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, finished with eight saves in the shutout.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday, when it travels to Waterbury, CT to face Post in a CACC game at 4:00 pm.
