Goldey-Beacom men's soccer faced a tough Roberts Wesleyan squad and put up a strong fight, but were handed a 3-0 loss at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.
The Redhawks saw one of their three goals come in the first half of play by Archie Murphy, assisted by Takumi Horan, in the 31st minute The second goal for Roberts Wesleyan was made by Ewan O'Dwyer-Hall, assisted by Conlan McCoy, in the 49th minute. The third and final goal for the Redhawks was scored by Jack Hopson in the 78th minute and was assisted by Dwayne Lewis.
The Lightning took seven shots throughout the match, but could not convert despite strong efforts from both offense and defense. Sophomore Pedro Montanes (Zaragoza, Spain) finished with five saves.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday, where they host Felician for a 2:30pm match.
