Women’s Soccer Falls, 2-0, at Caldwell



Goldey-Beacom looked to get into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win column in North Jersey, but left with a 2-0 loss to Caldwell in Caldwell, NJ.
 
An early goal proved to be the difference with the Cougars scoring in the 17th minute.  Melissa Pires got a pass from Melissa Martinez and found the back of the net to give the home side a 1-0 lead.
 
Caldwell in the second half needed just 48 seconds to make it 2-0.  Taina Gervais received the ball from Ayia Fraser and tallied for the final.
 
Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) kept the Lightning (1-7, 0-3 CACC) in things with 12 saves and fellow senior Alex Lowry (Wenonah, NJ) had three shots.
 
Ariana Gaminara made five save for the Cougars (5-2-1, 3-0).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home next Saturday for Homecoming & Lightning Family Weekend.  Game time against Post is at noon, followed by the men's contest between the same schools.
