Goldey-Beacom Women's Soccer picked up a 2-0 victory against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Post on Homecoming & Lightning Family Weekend.

The Lightning dominated on offense the entire match, taking 20 shots, while Post was held to only one by strong defensive efforts. The first half remained scoreless, but GBC was able to get off 12 shots and carried this momentum into the second half.

Senior Sia Diakos (Frankford, DE) scored her first goal of the game and first goal of the season in the 58th minute off an assist from Senior Alyssa Petulla (Sicklerville, N.J.). 

Diakos then found the back of the net again from a pass by freshman Diana Luna Lopez (Wilmington, DE) in the 68th minute for her second goal of the game and season. The lightning were able to hold their lead for the remainder of the game and picked up a 2-0 win.

Diakos and sophomore Miley Jones (Pemberton, N.J.) led GBC in shots, taking five a piece. Sophomore Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, N.J.) added four shots of her own, two of which were on goal.

Reese Kloetzer took the lone shot for Post and Goalkeeper finished with four saves.

Goldey-Beacom is back in Pike Creek on Wednesday, as they take on Holy Family at 3pm.
