Goldey-Beacom women's soccer was dealt a tough 2-0 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Holy Family, in Pike Creek.
The first half saw equal play all around, both teams taking three shots each. Neither team was able to find the back of the net due to tough defensive pressure and the half ended scoreless for both sides.
Holy Family started the second half with an early goal off the header from Rylee Kaufmann in the 49th minute, which was assisted by Allison Loper off a corner kick. This was her first goal of her career. Holy Family then went on to score again in the 72nd minute when Carly Fox scored her first goal of the season.
The Lightning were led in shots by freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, N.J.) who had five. Senior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, Pa.) ended the game with three saves.
Goldey-Beacom competes again on Saturday at 2:30pm in Livingston, NJ against Conference opponent Felician.
