Volleyball Dealt a Heartbreaking Five-Set Loss at Chestnut Hill

Goldey-Beacom Volleyball was dealt a tough five-set loss to Chestnut Hill in their second match of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.

The Lightning started off the match strong, winning the first set 25-21 before dropping the next two sets 25-20 and 27-25. GBC was able to come back and win the fourth set 25-22 before losing the fifth set 15-12.

Goldey-Beacom played a very competitive and thrilling match, but unfortunately was not able to put a stop to Chestnut Hill's momentum.

Senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, Ill.) led the Lightning in kills with 17 and junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy) added 11 kills and 15 digs of her own. Senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, Md.), the current CACC player of the week, finished with seven kills and four blocks. Freshman Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, P.R.), current CACC Rookie of the Week, again finished with 23 digs. Freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) had 31 assists.

Cha'Kya Johnson led for Chestnut Hill with 18 kills and Rachel Mace had 19 digs.
