Women’s Soccer Drops CACC Match at Bridgeport

Goldey-Beacom women's soccer suffered a tough 6-1 loss against Bridgeport in their first conference game of the season.

Bridgeport took an early lead in the match with Brooke Boucher scoring in the 8th minute off an assist from Lily Rodriguez. Boucher then scored her second goal 6 minutes later in the 14th minute off an assist by Luiza Macedo. The third goal of the half for Bridgeport came in the 28th minute from Leigh-Ann Ramsay, assisted by Angelina LoFranco.


The second half saw relatively evenly matched play, with Goldey-Beacom taking 8 shots and Bridgeport taking 9. Bridgeport was able to convert 3 more goals in the half for a 6-1 victory. Luiza Macedo scored in the 51st minute off an assist from Brooke Boucher, Angelina LoFranco scored shortly after in the 54th minute, assisted by Tatianna Lizarraga, and Pia-Laura Wisnewski scored in the 73rd minute off a penalty kick.


The Lightning were able to convert on 1 goal in the match, coming in the 82nd minute by freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ)
 her second goal of the season. Senior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) notched an impressive 13 saves on 26 shots. 

Goldey-Beacom plays Chestnut Hill on Wednesday at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE, with kickoff at 3pm.
