Goldey-Beacom was faced with a tough Daemen side and was dealt a 3-1 loss at Banning Park.
Rayane Baitiche started off the scoring for Daemen in the ninth minute off an assist from Gaetan Francois. The Lightning were able to hold off the goals for the remainder of the half, as well as taking seven shots of their own.
Daemen then scored again in the 62nd minute off a goal from Fabrizzio Jaramillo, assisted by Emmanuel Perez. Rayane Baitiche added his second goal of the game in the 77th minute.
Freshman Sam Ball (Salisbury, Md.) added his first goal of the season off an assist from Senior Dominique Ojeil (Falkenberg, Sweden).
Freshman Ogün Ünal (Frankfurt, Germany) led the Lightning in shots, taking five and goalie Pedro Montanes (Zaragoza, Spain) finished with one save.
Goldey-Beacom is back on the road on Saturday, beginning CACC play by taking on Bridgeport at 3:00 pm in Bridgeport, CT.
