Despite strong defensive efforts in the first-half, Goldey-Beacom was defeated by Pace, 2-0, in its home opener.
The first-half saw relatively equal play from both teams, with Goldey-Beacom taking five shots and Pace taking four.
Pace took control of the offensive end in the second-half, scoring two goals within nine minutes. The first goal came in the 48th by Andrea Flores and the second in the 57th minute by Alexis Lee.
Senior Sia Diakos (Frankford, DE) and Sophomore Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, N.J.) both finished with two shots apiece for the Lightning. Goalie Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA.) ended the game with six saves.
Goldey-Beacom plays again at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE on Wednesday at 1pm against Staten Island.
