Goldey-Beacom defeated Bowie State in four sets (26-24, 20-25, 25-12, 25-21) for its second win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom took control of the third set, winning 25-12, with an impressive .400 hitting percentage and only four errors. GBC was also able to keep its opponent hitting zero in the third set. The Lightning went on to capture the fourth set and take their second win of the season.
GBC was led by senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, Md.), who finished the match with 19 kills and an incredible .421 hitting percentage. Senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, Ill.) added 13 kills and 8 digs in the victory. Freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) had another strong showing for the Lightning adding 40 assists. Freshman Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, P.R.) led the defense for Goldey-Beacom with 24 digs.
Goldey-Beacom is back on the road again Saturday facing Lincoln (PA) at 2pm in Lincoln University, PA.
