Women’s Soccer Falls, 2-1, at Molloy



Goldey-Beacom worked its way back into a level contest, but gave up a late tally in a 2-1 loss at Molloy in Rockville Centre, NY.
 
The Lions grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute off a corner kick.  Mikaela Barriga got a pass from Jana Strait and headed one home.
 
But the Lightning rallied in the 77th minute.  Junior Tess Pearce (Manchester, England) got the ball right at the 18 and scored for her first goal as a member of the Vegas Gold and Navy Blue.
 
However, Molloy got the decider in the 82nd minute.  Strait got a feed from Sarah Cavallo and netted the go-ahead tally.
 
Pearce and freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) had three shots apiece with senior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) making six saves for the Lightning (0-3).
 
Olivia Ingenito attempted five shots with Strait, Madison Keenan and Isabella Muro getting three apiece for the Lions (1-2).  Elyse Munoz made seven saves.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday hosts Pace at 3:30 pm.  This is after the men's squad hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a 1:00 pm contest.
