Zayon Marsh Named First Team All-CACC For Men’s Basketball and Nazim Derry Tabbed Second Team

3/5/2024 12:00:00 AM

Another solid campaign on the hardwood saw more yearly awards bestowed upon Goldey-Beacom with sophomore forward Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) picked first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for Men's Basketball, senior guard Nazim Derry (Atlantic City, NJ) picked second team all-league and sophomore guard Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) named third team All-CACC for Women's Basketball.

Derry gets his second all-league nod after being tabbed first team All-CACC and the City of Basketball Love Division II Player of the Year in 2022.  Marsh last year was tabbed second team All-CACC and Ciszkowski earns her first all-conference honor.

Marsh again was a dynamo in the paint, continuing to trouble defenses with his devastating play and trouble offenses with his low-post tenacity.  A constant factor every time he is on the court, Marsh has the Lightning in the CACC Tournament for the sixth time in the program's last seven competitive seasons.

He is sixth in the league with 16.7 points per game, fifth with 8.1 rebounds per contest and 13th with a .514 field goal percentage.  Marsh is 14th in team history with 959 career points and sixth with 493 rebounds.

Derry again was a standout with his outstanding shooting and great all-around competitiveness.  One to watch every time he plays, Derry is ninth in the CACC with 15.1 points per game and seventh with 58 three-pointers.

One of the program's all-time elite players, Derry is fourth in team history with 1,301 career points, third with 194 three-pointers and seventh with 239 assists.

Ciszkowski continues to dazzle with her solid outside shot and being an outstanding teammate.  Helping the Lightning in a run which they have won five of their last six games, Ciszkowski this season is first in the league with a school-record 85 three-pointers, first with a .447 three-point percentage and 12th with 13.3 points per game.

She is sixth in team history with 150 career 3-pointers and just outside the top 20 with 642 points.

The men's team is home Tuesday in the CACC Tournament quarterfinals against Dominican (NY) at 6:00 pm.  The women's squad on Tuesday visits Post in the quarterfinals after 7:30 pm.
