Baseball Stays Hot With 15-6 Victory over D’Youville

Goldey-Beacom saw its offense kick into high gear by winning its third straight, 15-6 over D'Youville to start a four-game weekend series at Doyle Field in Hockessin, DE.

The Lightning in the second inning benefitted from three errors to score four unearned runs, opening a 5-0 lead.  Senior Darin Miller (Mifflinburg, PA) had a run-scoring grounder, sophomore Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) stole home with seniors Kyle Walker (Wilmington, DE) and Demetrius Johnson (Glassboro, NJ) each getting RBI singles.

The Saints got two back in the fourth before the Lightning got two of their own in the last of the frame for a 7-2 score.  Senior Garrett Musey (Millville, NJ) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Charles crossed home on a wild pitch.

Three runs in the sixth were highlighted by Musey's two-run double and Walker's RBI single for a 10-2 margin.  The Saints got two in the top of the eighth, but the Lightning plated five in the bottom that was highlighted by a grand slam from junior Braden Kolmansberger (Lewisberry, PA).
