Alexa Pacheco (Santo Domingo, DR), a standout defender for Goldey-Beacom's Women's Soccer team, competed for the Dominican Republic in all three of its group-stage games at the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup.

She played the entire second half of the Dominican Republic's 5-0 loss February 20 to the United States, started three days later against Mexico and was a late sub February 26 vs. Argentina.

Pacheco in her three seasons with the Lightning (2021-23) gave the defense a huge boost and helped them twice compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.  She started all 50 games she played, ending the 2023 campaign with two goals and two assists.

Pacheco twice was named both College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District and to the CACC Academic Honor Roll.  Last year, she helped Goldey-Beacom hold its opponents to fewer than two goals in nine contests and reach double figures in results for a seventh consecutive season.

CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) is soccer's governing body for the aforementioned regions.
