Basketball Gets Two More on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

2/12/2024 12:00:00 AM

Solid performances on the basketball court for Goldey-Beacom saw sophomore Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the men and senior Janiya Stevens (Ellendale, DE) named to the same honor for the women.

Marsh closed with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting with six rebounds Saturday against Caldwell, one game after scoring 32 points February 3 at Dominican (NY).

A force in the paint who has made himself very difficult to defend, Marsh is a huge reason Goldey-Beacom (13-10, 8-3 CACC) is in first place in the CACC South Division and has recorded a pair of four-game winning streaks.

Marsh is third in the league with 17.5 points per game, sixth with 7.9 rebounds per contest and 11th with a .534 field goal percentage.  He is 16th in team history with 891 career points and sixth with 447 rebounds.

Stevens closed with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, 11 rebounds and four blocks in Goldey-Beacom's 77-69 overtime victory Saturday over Caldwell.

A solid player in the post, Stevens has helped develop a young roster that features seven newcomers and continues to play well against the league's elite.  She is fifth in the conference with 28 blocks, 10th with a .453 field goal percentage, 13th with 7.0 rebounds per game and 32nd with 8.7 points per contest.

Both teams are home Wednesday against Georgian Court with the women's game at 6:00 pm and the men's contest at 8:00 pm.
