Goldey-Beacom volleyball defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Bloomfield in straight sets to move into the fourth place spot in South Division with two games remaining in the regular season.
The Lightning held the Bears to a .000 hitting percentage and hit a strong .223 throughout the match to take the road victory. GBC won by a large margin in the first and third set, with the second being the closest of the three (25-17, 25-21, 25-16).
The Lightning were led by senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, Md.), who finished with 11 kills and five blocks. Senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy) both finished with 10 kills apiece. Freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) paced the offense with 39 assists and fellow freshman Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, P.R.) led the defense with 17 digs.
Goldey-Beacom plays on Wednesday at 7pm at home against Jefferson.
