Goldey-Beacom volleyball faced a tough Georgian Court team on the road and was able to capture the first set before falling 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 24-26, 19-25).
The first two sets were played relatively evenly by both sides, with each team taking a set heading into the third. The Lightning were able to rally back from a 13-19 Georgian Court lead to tie the game at 24, but the Lions were able to take the last two points and carry that momentum into the fourth set and run away with the match.
The Lightning were led by senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, Ill.), who finished with 15 kills. Junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy) added 10 kills and eight digs of her own. Freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) ended with 32 assists and senior Morgan Mendick (Bear, DE) had a career-high five aces.
Georgian Court was led by Nylene Mateo with 14 kills and Amiyah Woods with eight blocks.
Goldey-Beacom plays on the road again on Saturday, where they face Bloomfield at 12pm in Bloomfield, NJ.
